For this Season’s final New Dimensions concert, we journey into Beethoven’s creative world, exploring the influences, ideals and innovations that shaped his music and how they resonate today.

Håkan Hardenberger directs and performs Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto, a showpiece by Beethoven’s contemporary.

The programme moves to Brett Dean, whose Adagio molto e mesto and Testament offer thoughtful reflections on Beethoven’s struggles and achievements, viewed through a modern lens.
