Walk 1: Castle to Quarry Park (1.5 miles)
Start at the thousand-year-old Shrewsbury Castle, wave to Charles Darwin, and wander through narrow lanes lined with ancient churches and Tudor houses. Spot the Old Market Hall — a gem of Shrewsbury’s trading past — before heading to Quarry Park and The Dingle, a sunken garden perfect for a rest or a romp.
Walk 2: Quarry Park to River Severn (1 mile)
Begin in stylish Quarry Park, pass the quirky 18th-century St Chad’s church and its 12th-century predecessor, then stroll beside medieval town walls and a Catholic cathedral. Wind through hidden passageways to Tudor Shrewsbury and finish at English Bridge, with sweeping views of the River Severn and the inspiring Shrewsbury Abbey.
Wheelchair and buggy friendly — with simple detours to skip a few steps.
Use code List20 for 20% off all Curious About walks — including Chester, Lichfield, Birmingham, Worcester, Hereford & Coventry.
