Its 1873 and the young Vincent van Gogh rents a room in the suburb of London while he is trained for a career as an art dealer. Slowly, he becomes aware of the the secrets which lie beneath the surface of everyday life in the house. Wright's play- premiered at The National Theatre - traces the transforming effects of love, sex and youthful adventure on van Gogh's still unfound talent as a painter.
