A local community choir first and foremost, we are also part of the national Rock Choir network, which provides some unequalled performances for choir members. The Woodfalls Brass Band in Concert with the Romsey Male Voice Choir
TheWoodfalls Brass Band returns to Romsey Abbey for an evening concert filled with your favourites - from Brass Band classics, to film themes, to pop there will be something for everybody! We are delighted to be sharing the stage with theRomsey Male Voice Choir. Woodfalls are a Championship Section Brass Band based in the village of Woodfalls in the New Forest. The Band is celebrated for its commitment to tradition, community, and musical excellence. Established in 1874, it has grown from a local village ensemble to an award-winning band, recognised nationally for both its competitive success and concert performances. Having celebrated its 30-year milestone in 2025, Romsey Male Voice Choir has continued to strengthen its reputation as one of the foremost male voice choirs in the South. Now with more than 60 members their choristers have a passion for song and performing an eclectic programme of music in different genres Singing fun taken Seriously. A guided walk around the historic centre of Romsey
A short walk around the centre of Romsey looking at the historic buildings. A Romsey Local History Society event the same walk on all three dates. NB maximum of 50 people for each walk ( we will split into two groups if necessary). Weather:please have clothes appropriate to the weather. The walks will go ahead even if it rains. July is likely to be hot and sunny; if so, bring a hat and a bottle of water. Assistance dogs only please.
Solo Classical Guitar Recital by Nina Rideout
She delighted audiences ~ Romsey Advertiser Nina Rideouts classical guitar playing has been described ascaptivating and hauntingly beautiful. Enchanting ~Vincent Lindsey-Clark (International concert guitarist & composer) Ninahas given four lunchtime recitals in Romsey Abbey andplayed in Winchester Cathedral, The National Gallery and on the Mottisfont Estate. Her recital performance in Romsey Abbey of To a Wild Rose, was selected by the MacDowell website in the USA, for display on Edward MacDowells own page. Two videos of Nina playing compositions, written in memory of the great guitarist, Julian Bream, who passed in 2020, are included on a website, dedicated to Breams career: Pavan for Julian by Mark Houghton and Tombeau for Julian by Stepan Rak. Nina participatedin the last three Romsey Festivals and in 2021 & 2023 she performed an evening recital in the United Reformed Church.
The Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines Collingwood 2027
Back by popular demand, The Band of His Majestys Royal Marines Collingwood return to Romsey Abbey as part of their 2027 Spring Concert Series. Under the direction of Captain Hannah Trudgeon, enjoy an evening of entertainment from some of the finest military musicians in the world. The event promises a spectacular programme with a full range of musical styles from film score to marches, from reflectivemoments to patriotic British music. Featuring the world-famous Corps of Drums and top-quality soloists, this will be a must-see show with something for everybody! Lunchtime Concert, with Come and Sing! This lunchtime concert will include special choir pieces along with well-known choral favourites such as The Hallelujah Chorus, Locus Iste by Bruckner, and Verdis Va Pensiero. Members of the audience keen to join in the singing are very welcome, with music available.Our rehearsal is in the church from 10 -11.30am this morning if you wish to join us. Funds raised to local charities. 12.30pm or come along to our rehearsal 10-11.30am
The Great & Terrible Tragedy of the Swing Riots retold using music, poetry and song
In 1830, farmhands and their families faced starvation. Under the banner of the legendary Captain Swing they rose up to challenge landowners, church and government, demanding a living wage. The establishment response was brutal, resulting in mass transportation and, in some cases, execution. Using music, poetry and song !nVerse and Georgia Hilton recount these momentous events and their impact on villages throughout Hampshire. Performance will include cello, piano, Northumbrian small pipes, clarinet, flute, spoken word and cameo appearances from William Cobbett, Wellington and Captain Swing himself.

Romsey Sinfonietta returns with its family-friendly Storytelling Sundays! A short, fun and engaging afternoon concert exploring a piece of music with a story to tell performed by professional musicians. Iain Farrington's Animal Parade presented in a version for Saxophone Quartet and Piano. A fun adventure with animals, from the tallest to the fastest, the biggest to the nastiest. An affectionate caricature of wildlife The programme will also includes movements from Saint-Saens Carnival of the animals . Romsey Choral Society - Brahms German Requiem
A concert exploring 19th-century German romanticism through three contrasting works. Brahmss Variations on a Theme by Haydn opens with classical poise and inventive orchestral colour. Mendelssohns Hear My Prayer offers lyrical, devotional intimacy. The programme culminates in Brahmss profound A German Requiem , a humanistic meditation on consolation, grief, and hope, uniting chorus and orchestra in music of deep warmth and dignity.
