Primal circus review: A wild ride

From the second Primal kicks off, you know you’re in for a wild ride. This isn’t your average circus: it’s a no-holds-barred explosion of acrobatics, cabaret, fire and fierce energy that grips you and refuses to let go. Brought to you by the minds behind Rouge, this adults-only spectacle is sexy, hilarious and downright jaw-dropping. One moment, you’re gasping at impossible aerial stunts; the next, you’re crying with laughter. It’s that good.

The talent is off the charts. We’re talking gravity-defying flips, sword swallowing that makes you wince, and a whole lot of cheeky, high-voltage madness. The chemistry between the cast sizzles, and then there’s Leather Lungs, belting out notes so powerful they could set off a car alarm. It’s bold, it’s daring, it’s the kind of show that makes you want to run away and join the circus (if only you had half their talent). By the time the final bow rolls around, you’re grinning, sweaty from cheering, and wondering how the heck they pulled off half those tricks. Primal isn’t just a show; it’s an all-out, high-energy fever dream that’ll stick with you long after you leave.

Primal, Gluttony, until Sunday 23 March, 8pm.
