Duel & Dual magic review: Unforgettable moments from two masters

Magic is everywhere if we only choose to see it, according to Duel & Dual anyway. The unusual concept brings two award-winning magicians on one stage to literally battle it out, one-upping each other by reeling the audience into their rivalry. It keeps the audience hooked, with participation in Tu Strange’s antics (and yes, his body magic and humour really do live up to the name) keeping even the youngest kid engaged. Rival/partner-in-crime Mu-Syuan Chang uses charm and finesse to tease out the history of magic. Their joint timing, ability and banter creates a 50-minute rollercoaster ride of theatricality that tickles both brain and funny bone.

This show hits the mark, with some unforgettable moments from two masters who leave no stone unturned, bringing forth something magical with only sign language, gestures and smiles to support their tricks.

Duel & Dual, Adelaide Town Hall, until Saturday 22 March, times vary.
