Ethan Cavanagh: Bond, Lost My Bond comedy review – Relatable observations
A solid hour that would benefit from more improv

Bond, Lost My Bond showcases Ethan Cavanagh’s flair for sharp humour and relatable storytelling. From airlines like Rex to the woes of rental life, Cavanagh weaves personal experiences into a comedic tapestry that resonates with his crowd. A highlight is the use of a graph to depict his formula for a great night: ‘two pints, six pm, no dinner’ is the comedic sweet spot. His visual aids both enhance the humour and underline a universal truth that’s both hilarious and uncomfortably accurate, as he outlines his personal mishaps with this formula. He also has a disdain for property managers (shared by many) and a pointed critique of the profession culminates in submitting a satirical résumé as the Ivan Milat for a property management position, which (obviously) gets selected for interview.
Cavanagh's ability to balance relatability with clever observation kept his audience both nodding and laughing along. He clearly has a quick wit, but a greater emphasis on his obvious strength for improvised, spontaneous humour could have sustained attention better, as the energy waned toward the end of the performance.
Ethan Cavanagh: Bond, Lost My Bond, Gluttony, run ended.
