Andrew & Carrie: A Night Of Comedy, Violins, And Violence music review – Charming chaos
Andrew Cornelius and Carrie Nagy blend stand-up, storytelling and virtuosic violin

After successful runs at Edinburgh and Sydney Fringe, comedian Andrew Cornelius and violinist partner Carrie Nagy share the Adelaide Fringe stage in A Night Of Comedy, Violins And Violence. This show has it all, combining comedy, storytelling and music from the talented LA-based duo.
Nagy’s charming storytelling ability shines as she takes centre stage to tell the real story of how she ‘killed’ her dog (not at all as sinister as it sounds). The violin perfectly accompanies the story and acts as a transitional element as the story progresses, providing a soundtrack that matches every chapter. Her musical talent is a joy to watch, and the audience is invited to laugh, cry and connect to the story of her beloved pet. Cornelius then takes the stage with a hilarious comedy set depicting their life in West Hollywood, sharing disastrous experiences using Uber and Waymo (Cornelius may only have a one-star Waymo rating but is deserving of a much higher score in the world of comedy). The wit and warm humour on display keep viewers engrossed from start to finish. This is a show for all comedy lovers, violin lovers and, of course, dog lovers too.
Andrew & Carrie – A Night Of Comedy, Violins And Violence concluded March 15 at The Box at Arthur Arthouse.
