A spectacular multimedia show celebrating Vincent van Gogh’s life and stunning artworks is coming to Glasgow this summer.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience comes to the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) from Thursday 11 July for a limited run, combining more than 300 of the post-impressionist icon’s paintings with cutting-edge technology and a specially curated musical soundtrack to tell the story of one of history’s most influential artists. Due to popular demand, the show’s run has now been extended to Monday 26 August.

The Dutch post-impressionist painter was renowned for his vivid, emotive works and bold use of colour. Van Gogh produced around 2100 artworks, including famous pieces like ‘The Starry Night’, ‘Bedroom In Arles’, ‘Sunflowers’ and ‘Café Terrace At Night’. His innovative style, marked by expressive brushstrokes and vibrant hues, significantly influenced 20th-Century art. But, from a young age, the artist struggled with his mental health and he took his own life aged just 37. Although he sold few paintings during his lifetime, Van Gogh's legacy grew posthumously, establishing him as one of history's most influential and celebrated artists.

Visitors to Beyond Van Gogh are taken on a journey through the artist’s world from darkness to light, enhanced by his own dreams, thoughts and words set to a stirring symphonic score in this sensational narrative experience which appeals to a whole new generation of art enthusiasts and Van Gogh fans alike.
