Cultar Restaurant Group (Cail Bruich, Brett, The Clarence) have honoured the memory of the former long-term occupant here by keeping the name and signage. Everything else is all change at this compact spot, with just a few tables and perches inside plus a few outside, with a casual walk-ins-only attitude (though there’s a smartish, upscale vibe here). The menu reflects this approach, with food that is light and snacky, well prepared and delivered, from bar bites and charcuterie plates to a rugged ham hock croquette, asparagus dunked in bagna cauda, or mac and cheese waffle. There’s a nicely curated wine list, too, with interesting bottles (available to take away), and a few by the glass.
