With outlets in Glasgow and Edinburgh, you’re never too far from El Jefe’s lively take on Mexican dining. Billed as Tequila y Taqueria, diners can expect plenty of both. Pairs of tacos can be filled with grilled meats, birria, Baja fish, pulled pork etc, or stick similar inside quesadillas or burritos. Tequila comes in flavoured shots, in flights featuring the good stuff, and in various Margaritas and cocktails. On Sundays (noon–8pm) they also do a Tex-Mex version of the traditional British Sunday roast, with roast meats designed for two people sharing.
