Up a side street close to the edge of Kelvingrove Park is Five March, a contemporary bar-diner serving inventive small plates and equally imaginative cocktails. The compact menu offers expertly crafted dishes, generally Mediterranean in outlook with flashes of global flavours. Similarly, behind the bar are some original and enticing cocktails being concocted. Decor is unobtrusive, a calming, simple Scandi-like interior, putting the focus squarely on the excellent food and drink. They have a penchant for collaborations: in 2024 they teamed up with Southside bar Phillies of Shawlands, taking over the kitchen with their small plates for Five at Phillies. They’ve also joined with Buck & Birch for occasional foraging outings and paired tasting menus.
