With three venues now in town (others Southside and East End), diners are never too from a branch of this pub doing elevated food. Dishes are big and bold, and impeccably delivered (the co-owner is a chef), generally Scots-British, with some riffs on classics, from oysters and beetroot and goat’s cheese salad to Monkfish cheek scampi, ham hough on toasted sourdough or lobster mac n cheese. Their Sunday menu is renowned across the city, and grabbed a spot in The Good Food Guide’s best 50 Sunday roasts in the UK.
