Chelmsfords' very own Jazz Aficionado (and I don't use that word lightly) Funkendick, who owns over 200 Miles Davis Albums, will be playing an all Vinyl set taking you through Miles' career, in a way that no one else I know can. So if you love Miles or don't really know Miles then come along and listen in anologue heaven.

Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926 - September 28, 1991) was an American trumpeter, bandleader and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music. In a career spanning nearly five decades, Davis was at the forefront of several major stylistic developments in jazz, including-but not limited to-bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, third stream, modal jazz, avant-garde jazz, and jazz fusion. Davis's legacy extends beyond jazz into the realms of rock, funk, classical, and hip-hop.

It’s difficult to express the importance of Davis’ influence on the world of jazz. In 2026, we celebrate 100 years since his birth, marking the centenary of an artist whose career spanned over five decades, reshaping jazz in the process.
