2025 Special Summer Recital By Joel Munday Violin And Aurélien Pinchon Cello
SPECIAL RECITAL featuring two young virtuoso musicians. JOEL MUNDAY violin AURÉLIEN PINCHON cello Programme to be announced early 2025. Joel Munday Devonian Joel Munday now based in London is rapidly establishing himself as one of the UK’s top violinists exhibiting an exceptional talent and maturity. He performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. A dedicated proponent of music of our times in addition to the masterworks of old, Joel has had the privilege to work with composers including Pēteris Vasks and Osvaldo Golijov. The 24/25 season includes a performance of Mozart’s First Violin Concerto with the London Mozart Players. Other highlights include recitals with renowned pianists Julian Trevelyan (Leeds finalist 2024) and Sam Haywood as well as appearances at the Stift Festival in Holland and Spain under the direction of Daniel Rowland. Joel was one of 11 musicians worldwide to receive the London Symphony Orchestra’s Conservatoire Scholarship for the 23/24 season. Joel has already built up an extensive repertoire incorporates a substantial span of works, from Bach to the modern day. Having obtained his Masters degree (distinction) at the Royal College of Music, Joel is currently completing an Artist Diploma at the RCM where his studies are supported by the Orpheus Foundation. His mentors are the internationally renowned violinists Daniel Rowland and Alina Ibragimova. Aurélien Pinchon French cellist Aurélien Pinchon is currently based in London where he enjoys a varied career as a modern and baroque cellist and as a teacher. Praised for his fine and sensitive playing, he is a most inquisitive and versatile musician. He regularly performs solo and chamber music recitals as well as being an active orchestral musician. Aurélien was born in Paris and began the cello at the age of five. His first teacher, Soizic Chevrant-Breton, gave him an everlasting love for music and teaching. After studying at the Conservatoire (CRR), he set out to London to study modern cello with Alexander Chaushian and Gemma Rosefield and baroque cello with Richard Tunnicliffe and Sarah McMahon at the Royal College of Music, where he received various awards and scholarships. Aurélien is a most active and dedicated teacher and is in continuous demand from prospective students.
