The Wind in the Willows

The Wind in the Willows
Set among the willow trees by a river within Gatton’s beautiful parkland, this delightful adaptation by Alan Bennett combines all the joy of Kenneth Grahame’s much-loved classic story about Riverbank folk, friendship, love, loyalty and forgiveness. The play is performed by a community cast of more than 45 adults and children and is directed by Libby Egwuba. This is not a promenade performance, but the performances will be outside in a grassy area. We suggest you please bring chairs and/or rugs to sit on and dress for the weather! Golf buggies are available to take those who are mobility impaired to the performance site and back, but you will not be able to watch the performance from the buggy, so please bring your own chair to sit on. You do not need to book a buggy trip. There will be six afternoon performances over the weekends of Sat 15 (2pm & 5.30pm) and Sun 16 July (2pm) and Sat 22 (2pm & 5.30pm) and Sun 23 July (2pm). The Box Office will open one hour before each performance. Please follow signs from car parks or follow stewards’ advice. Please arrive no later than 1.45pm and allow 15 minutes to walk from the car park to the ticket office and down to the performance site. The route to the performance area is along uneven gravel and grass paths; appropriate footwear is advised. After the performance, we ask audience members to leave the performance site as soon as possible please and exit the car park within 30 minutes.
