A Young Songwriter Showcase - Featuring and Hosted by George Howard

Hosting Cafe No9's first young songwriter showcase, Sheffield native George Howard is an upcoming singer-songwriter with a penchant for crafting fresh, folk-inspired numbers.
Often touching on social issues, George aims to move audiences with emotive lyricism, finding inspiration from his own personal conflicts and relating these struggles to a wider audience.
Looking to release his debut album of original material in 2026, George hopes to de-mystify the art of songwriting and cultivate a unique musical approach to the well established singer-songwriter genre.
Inspired by the likes of Julia Jacklin, Angel Olsen and Fenne Lily, Lucy Knight's indie-folk sound balances dreamy guitar tones with captivating melodies and personal story-telling.
Following the release of her debut single Seasons, Lucy is often found gigging around Sheffield with her band. Now working towards an album, she continues to express herself through raw and introspective songwriting.
Eletto are a female duo with a nostalgic style that transcends the country and folk genre. Compelling vocal harmonies blend with poetic, melancholy lyrics and ritualistic sounds of the piano and acoustic guitar.
Eletto take inspiration from other leading female voices on the folk and country scene such as Emmy-Lou Harris, CMAT, and Swedish duo First Aid Kit. As well as their stunning vocals, both are self-taught musicians; Zoe plays piano and Mila the acoustic guitar.
Off the back of their debut single Northern Sun, which they released in 2023, their four-track EP hit the streaming sites in April 2024, and they are planning on recording new music soon.
Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue.
All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
