This concert will take you on a musical tour from the romanticism of MacDowell, Nevin and Dvorak (his famous Humoresque composed in the USA), to the colourful Etudes of Philip Glass. Enjoy dramatic works by Copland, a touching early piece of Barber and the beautiful miniatures of Ned Rorem and Dave Brubeck. Wonder at the creative genius of John Cage, and experience the deeply moving Elegiac Pieces of George Rochberg. The evening rounds off in style with two of Gershwin's most popular numbers - The Man I Love and the toe-tapping I Got Rhythm.
