Marsden Mechanics is delighted to welcome back festival favourites Alligator Gumbo to this years Marsden Jazz Festival. A regular sell out and always warmly received, their return promises another evening of irresistible New Orleans spirit and music made to lift the room.

Playing together since 2011, the Leeds based ensemble bring the joyful, rough edged energy of early jazz to life, taking audiences back to the roaring 20s and the heyday of New Orleans swing.

Inspired by a period when jazz was spontaneous and full of character, Alligator Gumbo celebrate a style where melodies and solos tumble together in a thrilling, ever shifting sound. Their music feels alive, warm and wonderfully infectious, equally suited to dancing feet or simply sitting back and soaking up the atmosphere.
