An Audience at the Palace - Conservation of the Seagrass Meadows of Torbay

Seagrass meadows are amongst the most vital and productive ecosystems on our planet. They provide essential habitat for marine life, support fisheries, protect coastlines form erosion and storm damage, and act as powerful carbon sinks in the fight against climate change
This talk will explore Blue Meadows, an ambitious and holistic initiative lead by the Ocean Conservation Trust. Focusing on the conservation of seagrass meadows across the South West of England, Blue Meadows is striving for the protection of this vital habitat, whilst also restoring the seagrass that has been lost in recent years.
A key aspect of this restoration work takes place in our National Seagrass Nursery in Torbay, the largest of its type in the UK.
Monthly talks with interesting folk on fabulous subjects. Its a time to socialise, discuss and learn lots of fascinating things.
