An Evening With Billie Maree at Cafe No9

Billie Maree is a songwriter, musician and producer drawing inspiration from the complexities of human emotion and our connection to nature.
Their style can best be described as a blend of ethereal jazz and alternative pop, with a refreshing flair of compelling and imaginative songwriting. Billie has been likened to London Grammar, Florence and The Machine and Aurora.
Currently touring The Listening Body EP, released in collaboration with Sounds Right and EarthPercent, organisations that recognise Nature as an artist by featuring them on the song. Already, Maree's music is being recognised in this area, with the opening track Dreaming River nominated for the Tune Into Nature prize, which earned it a play on BBC Radio 3.
Billie's music acts as a quiet form of activism, inviting deep listening, gently reminding us that we are not separate from nature but innately connected to it. Their work reflects influences from their love of electronic textures, organic instrumentation and this connection to nature.
A very special artist who is giving us a narrative in their music that is hard to come by. Brightness swirls with melancholy poetic lyrics and unconventional style. There's just something wonderfully inventive about it all YorkCalling
Please note this ticket price DOES include a BYOB fee should you wish to bring alcohol to the venue.
All additional purchases of non alcoholic drinks and home baked sweet treats from the cafe counter are always very much appreciated.
