August Open Day: Entry to the Mansion and gardens

Welcome to the August Open Day, featuring our regular, popular Fun Dog Show. Visitors are able to explore both the 24 acres of Gardens and three floors of the Mansion, including the stables and cellars, at their leisure. There are no guided tours, but Room Stewards will be on hand to answer questions and there will be a "10 minute Introductory Video" running throughout the day in the mansion.
Tea, coffee, home-made cakes and light lunches will be available, as well as a bar selling alcoholic drinks. Shaw's barbecue and the Pizza van will also be on site. An ice-cream van will be there for children of all ages. The Harlow Brass Band will be back by popular demand. There will be stalls, exhibitions, home-made and home-grown produce for sale, and children's entertainer Johnny Slap will be keeping everyone busy with slapstick comedy and various circus skills. You will also be able to see the Chingford Morris Men performing traditional dances. The Trust shop will be open as well as the popular second-hand book stall. The Friends desk will be there to deal with any enquiries on the day. The Walled Garden will be selling plants and produce.
Enter your dog into our fun Dog Show 3 entry per class. Dogs are welcome in the groups of Copped Hall, providing they are kept on a lead. Assistance dogs only are allowed in the Racquets Court, but dogs are not allowed in the Mansion.
New this year! Access to the Walled Garden for those with mobility issues is now possible with our new Golf Buggy, taking you from the Mansion to the Gardens and back again throughout the day.
