The ¡AY!KALIMBA! crew return to the Trades Club with their second installment of the tropical club night. This month to kick off the winter club season they take things up a notch with K.O.G. as the live act headliner. With DJ support from Nicky General, J-Black & Cutterz. Kweku Sackey aka K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana) has been pushing the musical boundaries with his afro dancehall and futurism sound. A firm favourite at festivals up and down the country he has appeared on BBCs Later with Jools Holland twice, first with Nubiyan Twist in 2021 and then last year with his own band. His most recent releases have seen him collaborate with Ghanian musical icons such as Gyedu-blay Ambolley and Pat Thomas as well as further output with Nubiyan Twists Tom Excell in the group Onipa and a new album produced by Guts. As a multi-dimensional creative force K.O.G. combines exquisite writing skills with shamanistic live performance; fierce raps with singing across a massive vocal range and some absolutely wicked dance moves. Not to mention his skills as a percussionist, arranger, bandleader and art director. He is a true poet and storyteller, using a vibrant mix of English, Pidgin and Ga to paint sonic pictures that reach deep into the souls of everyone ready to listen.
