Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem

This concert brings together two great romantic German composers, Mendelssohn and Brahms.
The works are both rousing and comforting in nature, and the much-loved Ein deutsches Requiem, which Brahms referred to as a ‘human requiem’, was written to console the living and to explore grief in its many forms, rather than to accompany the dead.
