Bristol Choral Society's Beethoven Missa Solemnis with British Sinfonietta

A chance to hear this rarely performed Masterpiece!
Missa Solemnis or Solemn Mass is the second setting of the Mass by Beethoven. Written and debuted around the same time as his ninth symphony, this lesser known work is said to be regarded by Beethoven as his greatest composition.
Consisting of five movements and using a substantial choir, four soloists and full orchestra it is a monumental work full of dramatic crescendos and profound intensity.
