Broken Bard

The writer of BROKEN BARD has no idea what they are doing. After losing their “proper” desk job nearly ten years ago, they’ve been struggling to claw into their beloved world of stage performance while maintaining a supportive online audience of daft YouTube videos.
As a storytelling comedian, Louis dares to tread uncharted territory; “Broken Bard” is an emotional journey between hilarity, rhythm and reflection – from the first musical prodding of their childhood right up to today’s warbling, Louis invites the audience to an intimate story of confessional humour with original songs that make the darkest topics bright.
This stand-up comedy show is about the lonely human connection: the shared humanity amongst introverts. It’s about the beauty and absurdity of being human. It’s about solace found in a simple song.
And it’s about a gender-dysphoric depressed person who had a great first show at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe (“Manboy”) and has possibly got a bit too confident. And they have depression and a ukelele.
