Cemetery Sessions Presents Ibantuta

Cemetery Sessions Presents Ibantuta
Join us for a mesmerising solo film-concert with Ibantuta [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPqaDRAoNYs], a musical storyteller whose journey across the ancient Silk Roads has become a celebration of shared tradition, global collaboration, and the enduring power of sound. Driven by a passion for modal music, Ibantuta travelled through 12 countries, collaborating with nearly 40 traditional musicians, weaving together the sounds of China, Central Asia, and the Middle East. At the heart of this journey is the Oud, a timeless stringed instrument that acts as his compass through cultures, landscapes, and stories. The result is Musical Threads of the Silk Roads - an acclaimed album that reached #11 on the World Music Chart, accompanied by breathtaking video footage and short films that document the music and spirit of each place. This live event is more than a concert: its an immersive experience. As Ibantuta plays live on the Oud, the Chapel will be filled with the sights and sounds of his journey - from bustling marketplaces to serene deserts, intimate jam sessions to sweeping cinematic vistas. A moving tribute to musical heritage, connection, and kindness, this is a unique opportunity to witness one artists search for unity through sound.
