The GCU Law Clinic are delighted to invite you to our annual Common Good Lecture. The 2025 Common Good Lecture will be delivered byDr Kate McKenzie. Dr McKenzie is an award-winning climate change legal expert, currently serving as CEO and Director of the Climate Change Legal Initiative (C2LI), having contributed to its development since its inception. She has over 20 years of experience as a lawyer-mediator, specialising in social justice, climate change law and litigation, and the law of the sea. She is the Managing Editor of the Carbon & Climate Law Review and Co-Chair of the Climate Litigation Cluster of the IUCN World commission on Environmental Laws Climate Law Specialist Group. Dr McKenzie holds a Bachelors Degree in Classical Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory (Boston, MA, USA), a Juris Doctor with a concentration in Environmental Law from Capital University Law School (Columbus, OH, USA), an LLM in Global Environmental Law and Governance from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland, UK), as well as a PhD in Climate Change Litigation and the Law of the Sea from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland, UK). The lecture starts at 4.30pm on the 1st floor of the CEE building with drinks and nibbles being served afterwards. We hope you see you there!
