At their mother's wake, two brothers start to piece together a sense of who she was from the stories she told them as children, and as adults. Some were hilarious, some terrifying and some downright baffling. Did they help the brothers in their life path, or did they make the forest darker and the way less clear? Was their mother to be found in her yarns, like the old woman spinning in her gingerbread cottage?
