Compassionate Communities: An Introduction to Trauma Awareness, Bude
This workshop gives a gentle, easytounderstand introduction to what trauma is and how it can affect people in our community. We look at how life experiences stress, loss, pressure, or difficult situations can shape how people feel and behave. Together, we will explore simple ways to offer understanding and kindness, even when someones behaviour seems challenging. By the end, participants will feel more confident noticing when someone might be struggling and knowing how to respond with compassion. Its a friendly, practical session for anyone who wants to help make their community safer, and more supportive for everyone.

Understanding what trauma is.
Raising awareness around the prevalence of trauma and who it can impact.
Recognising the significance of language.
Exploring stereotypes and social norms.
Understanding what shame is.
Identifying individual power within communities.
