Our production of Copperfield! is an adaptation and abridged version of David Copperfield, a Charles Dickens novel chronicling the life of its titular character from birth to adulthood.

The story follows his difficult childhood under a cruel stepfather, his eventual escape to his eccentric great-aunt, his schooling, his first marriage to Dora, and his eventual marriage to his childhood friend Agnes after Dora's death.

The novel explores themes of coming of age, resilience, memory, and social class, and draws heavily from Dickens' own life experiences
