CORNFIELD CHASE: "A starry-eyed alternative rock band from Fife; Cornfield Chase combines ethereal melody with raw emotion to weave a compelling tapestry of beauty and imperfection. Their music is characterized by distinctive falsetto vocals, expressive guitars and a jazzy rhythmic undercurrent. The band are looking forward to returning to Room 2 in 2025 with a new single and EP under their belt, which is due out in April. FFO Radiohead, Muse, Nirvana." PELIKAN ROGUE: "Hailing from South Ayrshire, playing original pop rock music, Pelikan Rogue produce the kind of music youd expect to hear if INXS and the Killers had a musical baby. We are an experienced band with a growing loyal fanbase, having played Butefest (2022), Doonfest (2023), IPO Liverpool at the famous Cavern Club (2022 & 2024), King Tuts (2023), and many appearances at the Classic Grand in Glasgow and other events across the country. Weve headlined our own shows and supported acts such as Big Country, the Bluetones and Hue & Cry. We also played in London in 2024 and played the famous Dublin Castle to expand our organic fanbase further. We have released 3 new singles last year, with more on the way." HIPPY: "The established collaboration based here in Glasgow between singer/ songwriter Paul 'Hippy' Hipson and guitarist Hugh Frizell. Formed in Glasgow back in September 2019 owing to a chance meeting between Paul and Hugh. Hippy originally played early shows an acoustic duo then quickly evolving into a full band with the additions of bass, drums and keys being brought into the mix. Initial early singles such as 'Junkyard Babies' and 'Volunteer' were received with genuine positivity from critics and fans alike. The outfit received some national radio airplay and played notable Glasgow shows at venues such as Room2, Barras Art & Design (BAAD) and the Old Hairdressers to name a few. 2 full studio albums have subsequently been released with debut 'Behind Every Song Is A Story' being released in September '20 followed up quickly by 'Falling In Love With Being Alive' in August '21. Both albums met warmly by critics and fans of the band noting a distinctive sound and eye (and ears) for melodies and a song. Post release of FILWBA saw Hippy play some further headline shows in their hometown of Glasgow and again also enjoy a generous share of local and national radio play with every release. In particular the prominent rock critic/ journalist Billy Sloan, being one. Billy has regularly played and championed the band on his Saturday night BBC Radio show. Further singles were released such as 'Boho Eskimo', 'Waiting For Love', 'Collateral' and recently a cover of the band's live Beatles crowd pleaser 'I've Got A Feeling' with all being given a great reception either online or live. Over the last year, Hippy have cemented their live show experience with more gigs and local festivals. They also played further headline shows at venues such as Room2 and McChuills in Glasgow. Hippy released new single 'Tupliaq' on all major digital platforms last December. The song already being touted as one of the band's best to date. And with several radio stations both national and international picking up on it. The band are looking forward to more gigs and song releases throughout '25. Hippy are delighted to be back with an acoustic set on 'home' ground at Room2 on May 17th where they will be joined with Benjamin Emerson on keys. "We tried our best and gave it our all"." STATIC SKY: "A new exciting five-piece band hailing from Ayrshire consisting of the brothers Agnew on drums and bass, Cameron Costley on guitar, Ross Phillips on guitar and backing vocals fronted by singer songwriter Marc James. They have a fresh sound which plays on nostalgia in a sense with their electric riffs and fast paced energy but also with melancholic heartfelt lyrics." 14+. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. Original photo ID required (driving licence - full or provisional, passport or Young Scot card). Room 2 is only a few minutes walk from Central and Queen Street Train Stations, Buchanan Bus Station and is near to the Subway on Buchanan Street. Thank you for your support and see you there!
