Czech Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra

Janacek Prelude & Pantomime from The Cunning Little Vixen
Bruch Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor
Dvorak Symphony No.9 in E minor, From The New World
Conductor: Daniel Raiskin
Violin: Jennifer Pike
Our guest orchestra in the 25-26 series presents a wonderful programme of concert favourites, beginning with a pair of enchanting excerpts from Janacek’s much-loved opera, followed by one of the UK’s most highly regarded violinists, Jennifer Pike, performing Bruch’s wonderfully romantic and popular first Violin Concerto.
Dvorak’s stirring, ever-popular Symphony No.9 - From the New World - fills the concert’s second half, is one of the most stunning symphonic achievements in the entire classical repertoire, and needs absolutely no introduction!
