Daemonik Fonce , the Lexington, London
DaemoniK Fonce: When Welsh twins Stewart & Paul Summers (Ten Benson / The Sharp Tongues) started some experimental recordings combining psychedelia, poetry and punk rock, the resulting songs got them thinking. Recruiting old touring comrades Sam Mansbridge (The Rumblestrips) on bass, Hanna Edgren (Tits Of Death) on keys and vocals and Andy Prestidge (Morlock, Angelwitch, Warning) on drums, DaemöniK Fonce were fully formed. Invited to support bands including Sea Power & The Jim Jones All Stars, Gaye Bykers On Acid, the transformation from home studio project to fully fledged jaw dropping live band was complete. What you hear is a reflection of you, the listener. This band obviously LOVE MUSIC, LOVE BANDS, LOVE ROCKNROLL .. Deep thinking with heavy personality, pulling in references from Fairport Convention, Sex Pistols, LKJ, JCC, Hawkwind, Buzzcocks and Magazine. Wow Signal: WOW SIGNAL is the brainchild of Jonny Male and Jem Noble. Jonny has a long history as a pop writer with the likes of Saint Etienne, Lawrence (Denim, Gokart Mozart), Republica, Cerys Matthews, Miles Hunt and more. Jem is a musician who's had an impressive career in recording & front of house sound. If you like your pop music a bit wonky and bittersweet then come down and watch them play some tracks from their debut album, DOSTOYECSTASY, released in the new year. WOW SIGNAL will be joined onstage by drummer Conor Lawrence with whom they have toured extensively during the Republica years. Chalet De La Roche: Châlet de la Roche is Francophiles David Willis & Tones Sansom. Describing their sound, only half-jokingly, to anyone who asks as « The future of music - in 1980! » their debut is a moody, atmospheric album that reflects the tribal 1980s touchstones imprinted into their respective DNA: New Order/ Joy Division, Human League, The Cure ... the odd stolen Pixies bassline ... «Châlet de la Roche» also absorbs shoegaze and the odd flash of acid-house into its palette. First singles «Because» and «Abandonné» picked up 6music and Radio X plays and were followed an eponymous debut LP in January 2025. A new single «Fiction Scientifique» (September 2025) is inspired by the 1927 film Metropolis and the Dresden art movement Die Brücke who were working on bridging the past and future through art. It is the first new material from a new still-in-the-works album slated for Spring 2026. Meanwhile the group have been commissioned to remix legendary producer David M. Allen (The Cure, The Sisters of Mercy, Depeche Mode) for a forthcoming album, also out in early 2026. Originally formed with the idea of creating music with a bass driven post-punk sound, Châlet de la Roche were initially steered by the influence of «Low», Eno, dub, and the electronic pop of the early 80s. « At the start, because we had no singer, we sampled female voices culled from French arthouse films, 50s-70s chanson, which gave the songs at this point, instrumental - an extra emotional resonance. It also made everything suddenly sound authentically French. With David stepping up to write lyrics and sing, the material really began to take shape and fully formed songs began to arrive. The sampled French female vocals were retained, however, lending an intoxicating antipathy to David's lead vocal»
