DC Presents: Dancer / Sinews / Desired Effect

Excited to be welcoming this stellar lineup to Clam on 28th Feb 2025.
Dancer
Glasgow powerhouse responsible for one of our favourite albums of the last few years, and made up of humans from some of our favourite bands of recent times (Robert Sotelo, Buffet Lunch, The Wharves, Current Affairs, Order of the Toad, Nightshift). They are a 4 piece indie rock post punk outfit - the group play a hyper-energised and joyous form of agile post-punk, pulling together a sound from influences such as Life Without Buildings, Elastica, Owls and the Dismemberment Plan. Gemma Fleet's vocals delivered in her natural Buckinghamshire accent evokes a charming earthiness and lyrical wisdom that defines the group's character.
A stripped down 3 piece instrumental band backs this distinctive voice - one that utilizes Chris Taylors inventive and expert guitar and keys trickery, Andrew Doig's amorphous bass lines and newly inducted drummer Luke Moran's rhythmically alert drum stylings. Dancer create a warm and kinetic pop and rock sound that can flip between searing aggression and placid introspection - filtered though through the lens of midwestern emo, britpop, the chiming of louisville 90s post rock and the bouncily minimalistic new wave of Pylon.
Sinews
Sinews are a post-hardcore / noise rock band from Oxford, formed in March 2022. They are straight out of the legendary Divine Schism DIY stable and they make an excellent racket. Very happy to finally bring them up to Delicious Clam after various aborted attempts over the last year or so!
Desired Effect
Two bassists? That's insane Jeremy. Gothy, moody, hooky post-punk from various clam-related beings. Originally the brainchild and solo-outfit of one Sam Parkinson, now a fully formed band made up of members of Avida Dollars and Fruit Bomb, amongst others.
