Evan Hansen is a lonely high schooler struggling with severe social anxiety. When a private letter meant for his therapist is found with a classmate who died by suicide, Evan is mistaken for the boy’s secret best friend. Trying to bring comfort to the grieving parents, Evan fuels the lie and accidentally becomes a social media sensation.
