Duke Neville Returns to the D.D.C.
Back by popular demand after a standout spring set, “The Rocksteady Teacher” Duke Neville brings his deep roots and rare selections back to the decks. A veteran of the 70s General Soundsystem, Duke remains a key figure on the London Reggae Revive circuit, with appearances at the London Ska Festival, legendary record auctions at Peckings, and his own vinyl imprint, Neville Sounds.
Joining him is the ever-vibrant Sweet C (formerly Steady C), Duke’s longtime partner since their days as General Sound-later rebranded Alpha B. Together, they lit up town hall dances, house parties, and clubs across London and the southeast. Expect scorching selections of Ska, early Reggae, and Rocksteady from this iconic duo.
Also nicing up the dance is resident Sing-jay Doc Murdoc, fresh off a support slot with Black Uhuru, alongside resident selector Soft Wax. The D.D.C.’s expanded horn section-now a three-piece featuring crowd favourites Natty and Tombone-adds extra fire.
Live mixes come courtesy of Prince Fatty, working his sonic magic on an enhanced sound system. The night unfolds in a friendly local boozer, with garden vibes for chilling-always a favourite among regulars.
