We are pleased to announce the very first Dereham Jitterbug Ball on the 1st August 2026. The event will take place at the Dereham Memorial Hall starting at 7.30pm. The postcode is NR19 1AD.

The Opus One Band features our big band line up and both male and female vocalists, playing all of your favourite war time big band hits. The band have, for the last 43 years, been wowing audiences with their driving rhythms, with our jives played at strict tempo for your dancing enjoyment. Opus One were honoured to perform at the London Jitterbug ball for 15 consecutive years, which brings to bare their huge experience performing songs from the big band era.

So why not come up to Dereham and visit the Mid Norfolk Heritage Railways 1940's weekend on either the Saturday or Sunday during the day. Then on Saturday evening take a 2 minute walk to Dereham Memorial Hall for a Jive, or simply come and listen to the stunning music of Glenn Miller, Harry James, Count Basie, Duke Ellington or Benny Goodman. Experience the 1940's Golden Age of Swing.

This music will live forever in your memory, long after the last note has faded.
