"The jangle of the beat meets the Friday night soul of a valleys social club hall" - Oyster Boy
Des Was a Bowie Fan is a clubnight founded in 2013 at the Tutu's nightclub on London's Strand. It has since played out residencies at East End venues Jamboree, The George Tavern and Paper Dress Vintage, as well as on the West Ends famous Denmark Street at The Alleycat club and Edinburghs Henrys Cellar Bar, creating feral Pop dancing havens for lovers and dreamers young and old. Guest DJs at the club in its London carnation have included Eddie Argos of Art Brut, Darren Hayman of John Peel favourites Hefner, and feminist author and post-punk musician Helen McCookerybook. It is Wales' 600th most successful export across the bridge, coming in just after Shakin' Stevens' autobiography.
