Tuesday 20 May (Free) 7 to 7.30pm Pik Kei Wong: Bird Watching - CCA Wednesday 21 May (Free) 7 to 7.30pm Pik Kei Wong: Bird Watching - CCA Thursday 22 May (Sliding Scale ticketed) 7 to 7.30pm Pik Kei Wong: Bird Watching - CCA 8 to 9pm Samir Kennedy: CHAOS Ballad - The Vic (1 min walk up a steep hill, access support is available and we can pay for accessible cabs if needed) Fresh from a 5-star triumph at Edinburgh Fringe, Bird-watching, Pik Kei Wong’s mesmerizing solo asks audiences to confront their own perception of the female form. Developed in Hong Kong where she worked in the dance scene before her move to Scotland in 2023, Bird-watching artfully navigates the complex interplay of desire, cultural norms, and female empowerment – transforming discomfort into a profound appreciation of the body’s power and presence. Welcome to the world of Samir Campaign, nobody's favourite sad fuck faggot clown. It’s the “fin de la soirée”. His inauguration into the world of the living. He hauls his melancholy across the space, scattering a trail of decrepit beauty that at any moment feels ready to tip into monstrosity. He rehearses and rehearses and rehearses, a never ending rehearsal for a show that will never be. What vortex of sadness will he be sucked into now? And in turn suck you into? CHAOS BALLAD lurks somewhere between concert, cabaret and nightmare. We bear witness to the attempts of Samir Campaign as he just keeps on keeping on in a world filled with terror and the terror of boredom and the boredom of terror.
