He’ll perform a core piece of cor anglais repertoire by Hindemith and Antonio Pasculli’s Fantasia– a beautiful work that took inspiration from Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera. Charles Koechlin felt the cor anglais ‘voice’ was a perfect arrangement of his own song, and the sprightly Pastoral from Elliott Carter shows the agile side of this lesser heard member of the wind family.
