After many years of directing her own music in award-winning projects such as Wara, En El Aire and La Evolución composer and pianist Eliane Correa launches her self-titled repertoire at Ninety-One Living Room. Known for her role as keyboard soloist with Hans Zimmer and for her 15-year career as one of the pioneers and cultural ambassadors of the UK’s Cuban/Latin scene, Correa recently released her first double single, Everywhere/Float, under this new self-titled project that she sees as a very personal experiment around the themes of identity and community. Correa’s vision integrates Cuban melodic and percussive codes to a cinematic-oriented, reflective jazz base. Expect a mix of floating synths, Afro-Cuban folkloric drums, contemplative harmonies, and a dose of Cuban-centric jazz. The live 7-piece band features some of London’s top musicians such as Hammadi Valdés on percussion, Sam Warner on trumpet and Allexa Nava on sax, as well as a special guest appearance from vocal shapeshifter PLUMM.
