Elizabeth Sombart Plays Schubert And Chopin

After the success of the Chopin etc series, a welcome return to Cadogan Hall for renowned Chopin exponent Elizabeth Sombart
“Sombart’s playing is superb: technically precise but possessing a flexibility and freedom that lets the music breathe” The Observer
A programme of two halves culminates in the Polish genius’ irresistible Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor paired with a charming Mazurka and a rigorous Étude.
The first half of the concert, however, is devoted to Schubert: the tender, barcarolle-like Klavierstücke No. 2, and the extraordinary soliloquy, Sonata in B flat major, D.960, written just weeks before the composer’s death and throbbing with restless melancholy.
