Through this workshop we will explore Somatic principles to support wellbeing for creatives
We will find internal and external connections via experiential exercises and creative practices that are supportive for connecting with our personal needs and discover the interconnectedness among us and the environment.
Suitable to all abilities. No prior experience of dance or somatic practices necessary.
Please wear conformable clothes.
The workshop will be co-facilitated by Silvia Carderelli-Gronau and Louis Green.
Bios
Silvia Carderelli-Gronau
Silvia is a movement artist, filmmaker, teacher in Higher educator, researcher &
dance-movement therapist in Bristol and Bath since 2015. Prior, she lived and worked in
Sao Paulo- Brazil, Florence and London. Silvia has been consolidating her practice
(Somatics, Ensemble, Embodiment) & the dialogue with creative technologies,
interested in how they can support/enhance human experiences. Silvia is the co-director
of SEAM coLAB with Swen Gaudl, a resident at the Studio in Bath and a member of the
Creative Practice and Embodied Knowledge Research Group at Bath Spa University.
Louis Green
Louis Green is a postgraduate dance and embodiment researcher based in Bath, UK. His work is centred around the psychology and phenomenology of embodied movement practices, with additional interests in queerness, neurodivergence, spirituality, pedagogy and the visual arts. Louis project, Somatic Practices for Transgender Individuals: Potential, Facilitation and Accessibility, was presented at the
University of Wolverhamptons Dance Medicine and Science Research Symposium in 2024; followed by his collaboration with PhD researcher, Callum Anderson, 'again, again', funded by the Dancing Otherwise network. Louis is a member of the Creative Practice and Embodied Knowledge Research Group at Bath Spa University, and he aims to begin doctoral study within the next year.
