It’s been a while since an artist has emerged with the rare ability to pull listeners into a transfixing, intricate world quite like 21-year-old self-taught artist and producer, Erin LeCount. A visionary sonic architect, Erin’s baroque-pop arrangements, paired with diaristic lyrics and captivating synths, create an alluring interplay of vulnerability and strength. Songs like the viral hit “Silver Spoon” pulse with an electronic heart, exploring identity, relationships, and the meaning of life. The Covid-19 lockdown changed everything for Erin. At 17, she locked herself in her bedroom, learning to produce on Logic, writing songs, and posting them online. She signed with an independent label and began writing with other artists, but the experience reminded her of childhood pressures. Choosing to part ways with the label, Erin embraced total creative control, much like fellow singer-producers Grimes and Caroline Polachek.
