Family Craft for the Summer Holidays
Nature and eco crafts Join Brampton Museum for Summer fun most Wednesdays between 11am-2pm. No need to book, sessions are free but donations are welcome. Designed for children over 5 but with younger siblings welcome to join the fun. Wednesday 23 July: Mask-making and the Green Man Discover the story of "The Green Man" and create your own nature inspired decoration or mask to take home. Wednesday 30 July:Camouflage crafts Pick from a variety of objects to decorate including dream catchers, photo cubes, doorhangers, keepsake books and superheo masks. Please note no session Wednesday 6 August as Homestart are hosting their under 5s Summer Party: For details and booking contact Homestart [https://www.facebook.com/homestartnewcastleborough] Wednesday 13 August:Lollystick dragonflies and flowers Learn about the animals that visit the Brampton pond and then make and decorate your own lollystick dragonfly, flower or photo frame to take home. Wednesday 20 August: Minibeast Stampers Go on a bug hunt in the Brampton wildlife garden and then make your own collage using minibeast stampers. Wednesday 27 August: Play with Clay- Hedgehogs Get hands on to learn about these special animals. Discover how they live, what they eat and then make your own clay hedgehog friend to take home. About the sessions Designed for children over 5 but with younger siblings welcome to join the fun, colouring sheets will be available. Responsible adults need to remain in the craft room- please get involved in all the crafting fun. Do let us know in advance if your child has any access needs or if there is anything we can do make the sessions more accessible e.g. ear defenders and an autism-friendly quiet space. Please do not consume any food in the craft room. Our vintage tea room will serve delicious refreshments before and after the session, or why not bring a picnic to enjoy in the park. Almost all the materials used are recyclable. The sessions are paid for by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
