Fiep
Where Else? is proud to present the infectiously fizzing Dutch indie rock outfit FIEP with support from The Echograms and Polo Lounge. Since FIEP's breakthrough with combustible indie rock earworms like "Nightshop" and "Daydreaming", the project has only become more playful, impulsive and unruly. Forthcoming double EP FRIED RICE, MOON BLISS is jam-packed with fun sonic ideas, which is something FIEP can afford because the foundation of her songwriting is so incredibly winsome. After releasing the debut EP 77 Stokes Croft, FIEP tests how deep the waters of her craft can go on this latest collection of songs. Live favorite “Same Boat” - the opening track of MOON BLISS - snaps and crackles like fireworks, while the stunning “Smoke Signals” - with expressive vocals and bubbling synths - cinematically illustrates the push-and-pull of a budding romance. On “World Leader 2.0” FIEP proves that baroque arrangements and fun wordplay are perfectly compatible. The record reaches its boiling point on “R U Reading!?”, a noise pop cruncher where imperfection is converted into strength. On closing track “Let The Verb Do The Work”, FIEP makes a leap from the chronic overthinker to an artist who - amid all her struggles and growing pains - has gotten to know herself a little better - and is happy to share her novel insights with her audience: “Good work/Good ending/Go on a real nice walk and get in all of your steps/So we can make it work/Tomorrow.” Presented by Where Else?
