First Annual Conference of the British Journal of Canine Science 2025

The British Journal of Canine Science is pleased to announce its first annual conference. This year, the conference will be held in the Ballroom of the Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth. The topic of this conference is 'The relationship between dogs and humans through time', with a range of excellent guest speakers who will be discussing aspects of our shared existence with dogs from their evolution to the present day.
Amongst the speakers we have:
Anna Kelbakh introducing the theory that human language evolved partly due to the domestication of wolves;
Gavin Fraser-Gosling talking about the Dog in Ancient Egypt, the title of his upcoming book;
And a virtual contribution, from Canada, by Victoria Shroff KC, animal lawyer and voted one of the top 25 most influential lawyers in Canada. Victoria will be sharing her experiences fighting for justice on behalf of dogs in the modern world.
For those attending in person, coffees will be provided regularly through the day, and a hot buffet lunch is included in the ticket price.
The event officially commences at 9am (arrivals from 8.30am with coffee available) and will finish at 4pm followed by a networking opportunity in the hotel bar. Canine related goods will be available for sale during the event.
