Written in verse with the gleeful irreverence of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, Fishwives catapults the forgotten heroines of history onto centre stage-louder, looser, and far less ladylike than you remember. Penned and performed by seasoned comedy poet Abi Unwin-Smith (RCSSD), with a decade of live mischief under her belt, this anarchic hour fuses poetry, storytelling and movement with the high-energy chaos of vaudeville. Expect stripping suffragettes, scandalous monarchs and the odd persecuted pudenda-no petticoat will be left unruffled. After a decade on the UK and Australian comedy and poetry circuits, Fishwives now bursts forth as a full-throttle show: a bawdy mash-up of brains, bosoms, and belly laughs.
