Funding & Finances with Simon Gall

Join Simon Gall from Expressing Scotland CIC for this workshop exploring the process of writing funding applications to arts and cultural funders. Participants will learn how to identify the right funder(s), appraise their ideas against funder priorities, and write clear and compelling applications. Simon will also provide insights into managing both your project and professional finances.
Simon Gall is the Director of Expressing Scotland CIC, a social enterprise that works to support the cultural communities of Scotland to achieve their cultural goals and ambitions. He has worked for many years as a fundraiser for arts and heritage organisations, securing innumerable small, medium and large grants to support professional and non-professional cultural projects. He also has experience on the other side of the funding process, and has worked as an assessor and panellist for funding bodies including local authorities, Higher Education organisations, and national funders. As a musician, Simon has played piano for the last 16 years with the award-winning Salsa Celtica, and was the founder of the contemporary trad duo Clype. Today he plays regularly with Scottish salsa bands Glasgow-based Son al Son and Edinburgh-based Latina Turners.
